Rizq is an Arabic word which means “sustenance” or “provision”. It has many forms, but it’s highly known for money, wealth and abundance. In today’s blog, you’ll learn 12 powerful dua for rizq that will change your life, insha’Allah. But, before reading these duas you should know three important things about rizq:
1. Your Rizq is Already Written
Allah (swt) already wrote down your lifetime rizq when you were in your mother’s womb. What does it mean? It means that Allah (swt) knows and has already decided how much rizq (money, knowledge, skills etc) you’ll receive and learn in your life.
“Allah has appointed an angel over every womb. He says O Lord, a drop! O Lord, a clot! O Lord, a bit of flesh! Then if Allah decrees the completion of its creation, He says: O Lord, male or female? O Lord, damned or saved? What is the provision? What is the lifespan? All of that is written in the womb of his mother.”Sahih Bukhari 6595
You cannot die without consuming every penny that is destinated for you.
2. Allah Will Provide For You
Not only Allah (swt) has decided your rizq, but He has also taken responsibility to provide it to you.
“There is no moving creature on earth whose provision is not guaranteed by Allah. And He knows where it lives and where it is laid to rest. All is (written) in a perfect Record.”Quran 11:6
Here you need to understand one thing, when Allah (swt) says that He provides for you, it means that He has provided enough natural resources and countless opportunities on a global level that won’t shorten out for you.
A simple example is in your life-death span. You don’t really don’t think about death, but it reaches you anyway. Similarly, if you stop chasing your provision, it’ll come to you regardless of your concern. You’ll see earning opportunities all around you.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Were the son of Adam to flee from his provision as he flees from death, his provision would surely reach him just as death will reach him.”Source: Hilyat al-Awliya 7/90 Grade: Hasan (good) according to Al-Albani
3. You Have to Work To Earn
You need to work to earn your rizq. Allah (swt) has decided your provision and given you numerous opportunities to earn a living that won’t ever end. Now, it’s up to your working ability and how you plan to earn it.
All the prophets worked to earn money in order to survive and manage their household expenses. Prophet Adam (a.s) was a skilled farmer; Prophet David (a.s) was a blacksmith; Prophet Yusuf (a.s) was a finance minister; and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was a shepherd and merchant.
The Prophet (pbuh) said: “No doubt, it is better for anyone of you to take a rope, cut a bundle of wood, carry it over his back and sell it (in the market to earn) than to ask a person for something and that person may or may not give him.”Sahih Bukhari 1470
So, don’t try to obtain rizq by indulging in Islamically unlawful businesses, or with cheat, fraud or dishonesty. The money that Allah Almighty has written for you, will surely reach you. Why risk your hereafter for something that nobody can snatch away from you?

Allah’s Names For Rizq:
You can recite the following names of Allah for rizq, wealth and abundance. Each name has a special meaning expressing His power and authority over your provision. There are ninety-nine blessed names of Allah, but these three names are particular to His ability and quality of giving you sustenance.
1. Al Razzaq
Al-Razzaq means “the provider and sustainer for all his creation.” Allah talah is the one who creates and distributes rizq to everyone he created. He knows where they all reside, even if it’s an ant living beneath the heavy weight of the mountains or any aquatic animal under the depths of the ocean, or a person who is living a vulnerable life. All of them get their rizq. When you say “Al-Razzaq” or “Ya Razzaqo” in a dua, you’re calling upon Allah’s power of provision and sustenance. Recite this name 33 times after every obligatory prayer or countless times a day.
2. Al Wahhab
Al-Wahhab means the one who is the greatest granter, one who is perpetually giving (sustenance, provision) without even counting. Allah gives without purpose or expectation of anything in return as He is self-sufficient and the only giver who is ever liberal about giving rizq and wealth to anyone., i.e., the pious, the sinner, the good, the bad, the surrenderer, the rebel, the lover and the hater. Everyone benefits from the rizq He created and destined for them. When you say “Al-Wahhab” or “Ya Wahhabo” in a dua, you call upon Allah’s ability to give abundantly. Recite this name 33 times after every fard prayer or countless times a day.
3. Al Basit
Al Basit means the one who enlarges, expands and amplifies everything. It is the speciality of Allah talah that He can enlarge your sustenance and give you abundantly by multiplying it two times, three times, ten times or even more of your current provision. When you say “Al-Basit” or “Ya Basito” in a dua, you call upon Allah’s quality to enlarge. Recite this name of Allah 33 times after every compulsory prayer, or you can also recite this name countlessly at times of distress, on a journey or throughout the day.
